Seed Potatoes (or any potatoes that are sprouting)

    Skill Level

Loosen dirt to at least 18" deep...use whichever untensil is the easiest and most efficient for you.

Cut potatoes so you have at least one sprouting eye per piece.  Let potato pieces sit for at least two days before planting.

Plant potato pieces (or whole potatoes if you are too lazy to cut them into pieces) 6" deep.

Wait.  Wait some more.  Wait even more.  Wait until the tops of the plants begin to die.  At this point you can dig up your new potato crop or wait even more for the potatoes to get even bigger.

Note:  Do not wash off the potatoes until you are ready to use them...they will store for a longer period of time.
